Who We Are

Military Money

Military Money was created in 2003 as part of the Department of Defense's "Financial Readiness Campaign" with the support of the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Military Community and Family Policy.

Over the past 20 years, Military Money has been an important presence in the lives of servicemembers and veterans. Military Money Magazine had a circulation of 300,000 and was distributed to US Military bases globally before we officially went online. Our podcasts, Military Money Minutes, can be heard on Armed Forces Radio. And our flagship website, MilitaryMoney.com serves up the highest quality in journalism for our armed forces, past, present and future.

Karen Carlson is a personal finance expert and writer. Her financial advice has been published in Time, US News & World Report and Fox Business News. Carlson is an Emmy Award-winning producer of educational television and recent nominee for NFCC Financial Educator of the Year.
