Free Summer Camp For Military Kids

Spring 2007

The National Military Family Association (NMFA) is accepting applications for its Operation Purple summer camps, the only camp program that focuses on helping kids deal with deployment of a parent. The 2007 program is sponsored by the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation, the Sierra Club and TriWest Healthcare Alliance.

The free Operation Purple camps provide children from military families with fun and skills to help manage deployment-related stress. This year, more than 40 weeks of camps will be held at 34 locations in 26 states. NMFA also will host a camp in southern California exclusively for children of wounded servicemembers.

Applications and information about specific camp locations are available at www.operationpurple.org. Registration ends May 1.
