Wanted: Inspirational Stories About Military Moms

To commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Mother’s Day this year and to honor military moms nationwide, Teleflora is teaming up with USAA to celebrate a century full of motherly love in a very special way. Teleflora and USAA are seeking inspirational military moms serving overseas or holding down the home front for those who are serving our country to appear on NBC Today show’s "America's Favorite Mom."

Now through April 30, proud children and adults can easily nominate their favorite military mom by uploading videos, their favorite photos of mom and essay testimonials to www.AmericasFavoriteMom.com/usaa. Once nominated, moms can win thousands of dollars in prizes.

Four other categories of mothers may be nominated – single moms, working moms, unconventional moms and stay-at-home moms – and the top 15 nominees from all categories will appear on NBC's highly-rated Today show where viewers will have the chance to vote for their favorite mom at the end of each show. The winning mom from each category will be featured on Teleflora Presents America's Favorite Mom, a grand finale, one-hour primetime NBC television special airing on Mother's Day, May 11, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. EST.

At the end of the program, a celebrity host will crown "America's Favorite Mom" and name a rose in her honor. She will also receive thousands of dollars in cash and prizes, including an 18k gold heart-shaped "America's Favorite Mom" pendant trimmed with dazzling diamonds. As a special gift to the military mom finalist, USAA will reward her with a $2,500 cruise gift certificate from Explore Cruise Travel and a free year-long financial strategies plan with USAA Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner.
