TRICARE Eases Switch From Retail to Mail

Winter 2007-08

Registering for the TRICARE Mail Order Pharmacy just got easier with the launch of the new Member Choice Center (MCC). A mouse click or phone call is all that’s needed for military members and retirees to begin receiving prescriptions by mail. MCC will contact the physician to obtain new prescriptions and forward them to the TRICARE Mail Order Pharmacy for processing.

Beneficiaries can go to the redesigned “My Benefit” portal at www.tricare.mil or to www.express-scripts.com/tricare to complete the switch from the retail program to mail order. (Express Scripts Inc. is TRICARE’s pharmacy benefit provider.) The other option is to call MCC at 877-363-1433.

TRICARE’s Mail Order Pharmacy can save beneficiaries as much as 66 percent on certain medications. The beneficiary may receive up to a 90-day supply of most medications for the same amount he or she would pay for a 30-day supply at a retail pharmacy.
