Don’t take a chance on being without insurance at moving time!
It’s important to always buy a renter’s or personal property insurance policy before a move. Ask around any military community and be ready for horror stories about movers leaving furniture in the rain…packers boxing breakable items without any padding… moving trucks catching on fire!
Insurance is a bargain when compared against the cost of replacing the contents of even one room. Renter’s insurance may be able to reimburse damages in days rather than the weeks or months it may take to collect from the government, and usually requires a lot less paperwork and hassle. Less time spent on researching replacement costs means more time spent replacing the item and getting on with life in a new location.
