Spring 2007
Railroad giant Union Pacific topped America’s “Top 50 Military-Friendly Employers” for the second straight year in the annual list published by G.I. Jobs magazine. The list cites large corporations that have “made the greatest effort and had the greatest success in hiring military veterans,” according to the publication.
“In the military, our troops learn how to define a mission, develop a plan, apply resources and execute the plan with superior leadership skills,” G.I. Jobs publisher Rick McCormack said. “This real-world experience solving complex problems at such a young age makes our veterans hot commodities to corporate America. And that’s why our Top 50 employers have put their military hiring programs into overdrive.”
The top 10: Union Pacific, Home Depot, Johnson Controls, BNSF Railway, USAA, General Electric, ITT, BellSouth, ManTech International and Sears. For the complete list, go to www.gijobs.net.
