New Financial Ed Program Takes Off

Summer 2006

The NASD Investor Education Foundation recently opened an education program to help military families manage their money with confidence. It was officially launched at an event on Capitol Hill and enjoys broad support from the DoD, Securities and Exchange Commission and members of Congress.

The campaign's most visible feature is the new SaveAndInvest.org website. Visitors can access free information about personal finance, financial products and life events that require long-term planning, such as purchasing a home, saving for college and preparing for retirement. The Foundation is partnering with groups that work with the military community - such as InCharge Education Foundation (publishers of Military Money) and National Military Family Association - to develop programs, provide training and distribute information and resources.

The NASD Foundation was started in 2003 and is part of the DoD's Financial Readiness Campaign. NASD is the largest private-sector provider of financial regulatory services. Visit www.saveandinvest.org.
